The Government’s decision to put Portugal on the amber list from the green travel list has caused frustration to holidaymakers across the country. However, four young men who have had to adjust their plans accordingly insisted they knew the risks of travelling during the coronavirus pandemic. The group told ITV News that they were forced to cut their five-day holiday short and book new flights.

One of the men admitted he was disappointed but took full responsibility for booking the holiday and having to adjust due to the new Covid rules.

He said: “We couldn’t get our money back.

“What we have done is we have changed it, we were meant to do five nights but we have done three nights so we can come back while Portugal is still in the green list.

“I am disappointed with it but at the end of the day, it is no one fault.

His friend also noted: “My mum is going to have to pick us up from Cardiff because that was the cheapest flight.
