Tonight’s jackpot stands at an impressive £2million. For just £2 a ticket one lucky Brit could wake up a millionaire tomorrow. Lotto is the “nation’s favourite game”, the National Lottery claims, with tonight’s impressive jackpot ready for the taking, it’s easy to see the appeal. Could the next winner be you?
Tonight’s players won’t be in for a chance of winning the cool £11.9million jackpot that could have been won in the last Lotto draw on Saturday. But the £2million jackpot in today’s National Lotto would be enough to change anyone’s life.
How do you play Lotto?
For just £2 a play you could wake up a millionaire tomorrow morning, as the saying goes “it could be you”.
So, how can you play to be in with a chance of winning?
“You have to be in it to win it”, and playing is very easy. Simply pick six numbers from 1 to 59, or randomly select your six by opting for a Lucky Dip.
Up to seven lines of numbers can be played on each play ticket and up to 10 tickets can be bought at a time.
Draws for the Lotto take place twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
To enter the draw players must be aged 18 or over.
What is a Rollover?
Each week if no one matches the main six numbers needed to win the top prize, the jackpot is rolled over to generate a bigger jackpot.
Up to four rollovers can take place and if no one wins the top prize in any of those games the next Lotto game becomes a Must Be Won draw.
Here if no one matches the six main numbers again, there’s a ‘Rolldown’.
The Rolldown is when the jackpot is distributed among all the players who match two or more main numbers.
This means if you didn’t pick the six winning numbers but have still drawn some matching numbers, your win will be bigger than normal.
Everyone who matches two numbers will receive their usual Lotto Lucky Dip along with a £5 win.
The rest of the jackpot is then shared among all other winning prize tiers distributed based on set percentages – the more numbers you win the larger the share of the jackpot you will receive.
What are the winning numbers?
The winning numbers haven’t been drawn yet.
Express.co.uk will update this story when the draw has been completed.
