The Prince of Wales stayed on the fence as he offered his support to both sides of tonight’s World Cup match between England and Wales. 

Prince William said on Twitter in English followed by Welsh: “Here we go…may the best team win!

“Dyma ni … boed i’r tîm gorau ennill!”

The message was accompanied by the flags of both Wales and England. 

A Royal expert recently told Express.co.uk that Prince William was “stuck between a rock and a hard place” when it came to the match, owing to his position as both head of England’s Football Association and more recently taking up the mantle of Prince of Wales.
