Climate change protester Tracey Mallaghan descended into a scathing attack on LBC’s Rachel Venables as she claimed “what else is left” to do as the group launch the eleventh day of action causing traffic mayhem near the Blackwall Tunnel and across London which has left a devastated woman unable to reach her mother in hospital.

Ms Venables slammed: “What about the woman who is a few cars back who can’t get to her mum who could be dying in hospital now!

“What about that woman, what about that family?”

The protester acknowledged that it is “absolutely heartbreaking” to hold the devastated woman up but was unwavering in her belief that the group were doing the right thing.

She slammed: “What about the next generation who needs us to get our emissions down!

“What else do we have left when after three decades we have had nothing but words and lies from media like yourself and from the oil companies!”

Ms Mallaghan went on to accuse the LBC presenter of not taking “some responsibility” for reporting on the climate crisis before accusing Ms Venables of “lying” to her audience.

But the reporter hit back questioning why she was being held responsible for the British media’s coverage of the climate crisis before a ferocious argument erupted.

She said: “The truth, right now, is the miles of tails back you have created!”

Ms Mallaghan interjected: “Is miles of tailbacks anything in comparison to selling our children out?! Selling their whole future out!”

She went on to insist the insulation group “have to disrupt enough ordinary people” so that “media people like you” have no choice but to report on the chaos.

Insulate Britain said around 50 people were involved in the demonstration at Blackwall Tunnel.

It comes as the Metropolitan Police tweeted how 38 arrests had been made so far for “disruption of the highway and conspiracy to cause public nuisance” in the area.

The carnage follows a similar protest at Wandsworth Bridge, a major artery into central London, which prompted furious members of the public to take matters into their own hands and forcibly remove demonstrators from the road.

A paramedic could also be seen dragging protesters away in Wandsworth because they were blocking an ambulance.

Insulate Britain spokeswoman Fiona Atkinson condemned the backlash from the public during a heated debate with talkRADIO’s Julia Hartley-Brewer.

The activist slammed: “It’s violence! I think physically removing people when you’re another citizen is a step too far! That is the police’s job!”
