A nurse suspected of killing eight babies and trying to murder ten more has pleaded not guilty.

Letby was initially arrested in July 2018 as part of a major police inquiry into the deaths of 17 babies at the hospital.

On Monday the 31-year-old said she was "not guilty" to a total of 18 charges put to her via videolink from HMP Peterborough where she is on remand.

Of the infants the former nurse is alleged to have murdered on the job, five were boys and were three girls.

In addition to those who tragically died, Letby also faces charges of attempting to murder five boys and five girls between June 2015 and June 2016.
