The adorable thing Meghan Markle did to show her love for her father revealed

Thomas Markle came under scrutiny last year when he admitted to staging paparazzi photographs of himself. He also suffered a heart attack soon before Meghan’s royal wedding to Prince Harry and ended up not attending. In fact, the only member of Meghan’s family to attend was her mother Doria Ragland.

Thomas has spoken to the media on a number of occasions since, urging Meghan to reach out to the family.

However, when Meghan was a child, her relationship with Thomas was not so fraught and she would show her love in a very sweet way.

Thomas as the lighting director on the hit comedy show ‘Married… with Children’, which ran for 10 years.

Meghan was not allowed to watch it due to its adult content, but she used to kiss the screen as her father’s name went by in the credits, according to royal biographer Andrew Morton.

In his 2018 book ‘Meghan: A Hollywood Princess’, he wrote: “While she wasn’t allowed to watch the show when it aired, her mother would let her kiss the screen as her dad’s name went by in the credits at the end of the programme.”

This was not her only interaction with the raunchy TV show however, as she used to spend hours on set after school.

Meghan would sit on the floor of the studio after school waiting for her father to finish work so he could take her home.

Meanwhile, around her were some distinctly adult scenes including “various states of undress” and jokes about sex.

Meghan once described this experience as “perverse” on Craig Ferguson’s late night show.

She told the host: “It’s a very perverse place for a girl to grow up. I went to Catholic school.

“I’m there in my school uniform and the guest would be former pornstar Traci Lords.”

That said, she reportedly “thrilled” her classmates when she was allowed to bring several of them on set to meet the cast.

‘Married… with Children’ attracted a great deal of criticism from certain groups, including the conservative Parents Television Council, which described it as: “the crudest comedy on prime time television, peppered with lewd punchlines about sex, masterbation, the gay lifestyle and the lead character’s fondness for pornographic magazines and strip clubs.”

There was even a boycott started in 1989 led by ‘anti-obscenity activist’ Terry Rakolta.

This was triggered by the airing of an episode called ‘Her Cups Runneth Over’ which involved the purchase of a bra.
