With the imminent arrival of a newborn in the royal household, rumours have been swirling over what Meghan and Harry will, or will not, call their child.

With the Duchess of Sussex being known to frequently flout traditional royal protocol, it is anybody’s guess as to what she will name their first born.

From refusing to use the Queen’s royal gynaecologists, to reportedly mulling a private home birth, all the signs suggest that normal royal naming conventions could be thrown out of the window.

Among the bookies’ favourites are Diana, after Prince Harry’s late mother, and Arthur, the Queen’s great uncle.

However, names with little British royal connection like Grace and Ivy are also some of the leading contenders.
