Royal baby SNUB: Meghan and Harry shun traditional royal upbringing with low-key approach
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their child to the world last week but have already decided to take a more hands-on approach with Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. According to royal commentator Katie Nicholl, Meghan and Harry have decided to scale down the staff around Frogmore Cottage. Speaking to Grazia, Ms Nicholl confirmed that Duke and Duchess have so far refused to hire certain members of staff that would usually be expected.
Ms Nicholl added: “They have a scaled down entourage at Frogmore.
“They don’t yet have a nanny or a team of staff and there’s no chef.”
While some may have expected the Meghan and Harry to hire a multitude of staff at Frogmore, as Ms Nicholl revealed, Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland has been essential.
Ms Nicholl added: “Doria has been helping out, she has been indispensable.
“It’s been a very happy and special week for them all.”
Ms Ragland has been staying with the pair since before the birth of Archie.
Meghan’s mother was also photographed with both Meghan Harry when they showed off their newborn to Prince Philip and the Queen.
Before the birth of Archie Ms Nicholl had stated that the pair will “move away from traditionalism”.
Speaking Yahoo’s Royal Box, Ms Nicholl added: “I don’t think that sort of traditionalism, that perhaps we’ve seen with the Cambridges, is the way the Sussexes want to go.
“I certainly hear that Harry, not just Meghan, would like to have a more relaxed approach to their parenting, perhaps a bit more modern and progressive in that respect.
“So it could be a ‘Manny’ and it certainly could be American, but I don’t expect it will be a Norland nanny.”
In contrast to Meghan and Harry, Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge hired a Norland College nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.
