It’s a pretty common occurrence to see people munching on popcorn in a cinema lobby – but one cinema in the United States had a rather unusual patron.
A baffled employee was captured staring from behind the counter of the Kenai Cinema in Kenai, Alaska as a moose entered the lobby and started eating popcorn.
It’s a moose-tery what film the animal intended to watch though, as it left shortly after eating its fill.
The animal visitor entered the cinema on the evening of April 19 and was even spotted eating out of a bin.
Adult male moose can reach six feet tall at the shoulder and weigh up to 1,400lb.
So there’s no way it could have sneaked in and out of the cinema to grab a snack without anyone noticing.
CCTV footage captured it walking past the queueing area and towards a staff member smiling bewilderedly behind a counter.
After turning and spotting a large bowl of popcorn it chowed down for around 20 seconds, until the bowl fell to the floor.
A few minutes later it was seen wandering around the queueing cordons before leaving the way it came, back out of the front door.
The cinema posted a still from the footage to its Facebook page and said: ‘Everyone loves the movies, as witnessed by an unexpected guest to our theatre last night.’
One commenter responded ‘He wanted to see if theatre popcorn was all it’s cracked up to be’, while another said it was ‘time to quit propping the door open’.
Another simply replied: ‘Wow! Only in Alaska.’
