For many around the world, the wait is almost over as speculation has circulated that the royal baby will soon arrive. The couple have continued to keep their birth plan to themselves but one royal commentator has speculated the pair have chosen which hospital to use. Royal commentator, Angela Mollard revealed on the podcast New idea Royals, claimed Meghan has chosen the same London hospital as Amal and George Clooney.

Speaking on the podcast Ms Mollard said: “The latest suggestion is that she is going to give birth at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, which actually, I went to when I was first pregnant because I was living in London at the time.

“The reason this is being speculated is because Amal and George Clooney had their twins there and it was an amazing experience and it all went very smoothly.”

Meghan and Amal have reportedly formed a close relationship with both Mr and Mrs Clooney attending the royal wedding last year.

Moreover, Amal also attended Meghan’s star-studded New York baby shower a few months ago.

According to Ms Mollard it’s not just Amal that is the reason for Meghan choosing the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

The royal expert added: “The other reason is that they have a lot of female obstetricians and gynaecologists at that hospital.

“Look it could be the case. With Meghan, you could imagine she would possibly opt for a female practitioner.

“It’s interesting in the past we have known what was going to happen with various royal mums but not in this case.”

Speculation over where Meghan will give birth emerged over the last few weeks amid reports that the pair will break away from tradition.

Meghan and Harry have apparently decided to not follow in the footsteps of previous royals and will not have their child at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.

Both William and Harry were born in the Lindo wing of the hospital, while Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge has had all three of her children there.

Away from using a hospital, there have also been rumours that the pair may even opt for a home birth at the new home at Frogmore Cottage.
