Royal author Omid Scobie suggested Prince Harry could continue with his tactics after private conversations between the Duke of Sussex and Prince William and Prince Charles were shared with Gayle King, with the talks branded “not productive”.

It comes after massive backlash following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Mr Scobie told ABC’s royal podcast The HeirPod that there could be more damaging reports in US media.

Mr Scobie said: “We don’t often get such a detailed insight into what is going on. We are used to anonymous sources, like palace courtiers and aides dropping hints in the press.

“It was quite refreshing to hear someone share it straight from the horse’s mouth.”

Mr Scobie suggested these moves may continue “if we are seeing a resistance from the Palace towards addressing the issues”.

He added: “This tactic may not go away for some time.”

But now, Britons have lashed out at Harry and Meghan saying any further leaks would only look “manipulative and spiteful”.

One Express.co.uk reader said: “So, blackmailing your own family to get what you want? Nice.”

Another said: “We are done with you, Harry.

“You made your bed, you have insulted your family, our Queen and the people of the UK.

“We have had enough of how bad you and your wife think you have been treated.”

Someone else said Meghan is “getting angry” because she “did not get what she wanted after all the blackmail and tantrums”.

A fourth reader said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “completely finished” following the Oprah Winfrey interview.

They said: “Does the royal prerogative still permit banishment?

“They are completely finished, if their brand is still worth anything at all they should shut up pretty damn quickly, it soon won’t be worth anything anywhere.”

Another added: “There really is little more damage the toxic twosome can do to the monarchy.

“Further leaks about what goes on in the palace only looks manipulative and spiteful.

“Remember H and M are people who need to maintain a positive image to sell their woke Netflix content and their incredibly tedious Spotify podcasts.

“The more they look like petulant adolescents the more damage is done to their ‘brand’.

“So much for the ‘love always wins’ chuck bucket gushing, this pair are toxic and out for revenge.”

Last week, the US breakfast show host and close friend to Ms Winfrey, Gayle King, said Harry had spoken to his family since the interview but talks were “not productive”.

A senior Buckingham palace official revealed that the CBS host Ms King’s disclosures had “caused alarm” among senior royals.

They added: “This type of behaviour could have huge implications for trust between the camps moving forward.

“None of the households – the Queen, Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – will be giving a running commentary on private conversations.”
