London horror: ‘At least a dozen’ police rush to park in capital amid incident

Dozens of officers descended onto Westbourne Green Open Space, Bourne Terrace, this morning amid reports the entrances have been “blocked off:” A Twitter one user posted: “At least a dozen police officers there and all the entrances blocked off.”
Another said: “Something awful seems to have happened at Westbourne Green open space. Lots of police.”
A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 07:20hrs on Sunday, 20 September, to a park area in Bourne Terrace W2 to reports of a woman suffering from knife injuries. At this time it is believed these injuries may have been self-inflicted.
“Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are working to trace her next of kin and inform them.
“The death is not currently being treated as suspicious.
“Officers remain on scene and enquiries continue.”
