Kate, Princess of Wales, and Prince William have kept their children in school despite the royals mourning Queen Elizabeth II. Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis all started at Lambrook School, in Berkshire on September 7. The heir to the throne is said to be prioriotisng stability for his children by not pulling them out of education.

However, the children’s first full day at school was on September 8, the day Her Majesty was placed under medical supervision before passing away.

When Queen Elizabeth II fell ill on Thursday, William rushed to Balmoral Castle along with other royals.

However, Kate stayed in Berkshire to look after the children, as they had been in school that day.

Since that day, Kate has been pictured picking up George, Charlotte and Louis from school, dressed all in black.

A teacher spoke to William at Windsor Castle on Saturday, September 10 after Her Majesty’s death, and asked why he and Kate wanted their children to remain in school.

Elaine Gee said the Prince of Wales wanted to make sure his and Kate’s children felt “as normal as possible”.

She told People: “Prince William spoke about George, Charlotte and Louis, saying that they were trying to keep some sense of continuity for them at school and keep things as normal as possible.”

Ms Gee then said: “Kate and William were both very kind and gentle and genuine. It was very special – definitely a moment I will always treasure.”

William and Kate were joined by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, at Windsor Castle on Saturday despite not being told to by King Charles III.

Reports hold William had asked his brother to join him at Windsor, and after 45-minutes of negotiations between the two camps, the brothers, with their wives, viewed floral tributes left to the late Queen. 

The Sussexes and Waleses, dressed all in black, embarked on a walk around the castle as they spoke to well-wishers, accepted gifts and exchanged hugs, and then all left in the same vehicle.

Lambrook School sees fees for George, Charlotte and Louis reach more than £53,000 a year.

The school sits in 52 acres of Berkshire countryside close to Ascot Racecourse, and has a nine-hole golf course and swimming pool.

George and Charlotte attended school together at Thomas’ Battersea in London, but it’s the first time Louis has joined them in the same place.

In addition, Kate and William moved to their new home at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor in August.

It comes as William and Harry will join the King in walking behind the Queen’s coffin from Buckingham Palace.

The King, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex will follow the coffin on foot as it makes its journey to Westminster Hall for the lying in state from Wednesday afternoon.

The Duke of York, the Princess Royal and the Earl of Wessex will also walk with them.
