Harry and Meghan want their ‘normal family life’ captured by photographers

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still want their “normal family life” captured by photographers, according to one PR expert.

This is despite their decision to step down as senior royals at the start of 2020 being driven by their desire for privacy.

Harry and Meghan were recently pictured celebrating Halloween with their two children, four-year-old Prince Archie and two-year-old Princess Lilibet.

The family-of-four were seen trick-or-treating in Montecito, along with a host of other young families.

In the picture which circulated social media, Harry can be seen holding Archie’s hand, while Meghan carries Lilibet.

Prince Archie appeared to be dressed as a skeleton, while his little sister was dressed in a sweet pink costume.

The four-year-old was holding a pumpkin basket, clearly ready to collect sweets, while Harry held onto one for his daughter.

It has now been revealed that the couple wish for their “normal family life”, although they have previously asked for privacy.

Speaking to the Mirror, PR Strategist and Mentor at PR with Perkes said: “It may be that they wanted to create a family tradition, taking Archie and Lilibet trick or treating, to show that they’re ‘just a normal family’ doing normal things, but to me it feels like a PR stunt in disguise.”

She added: “It’s the image they want to portray. The reason they stepped down as working royals was to have more freedom away from the scrutiny of the media eye, yet they want their ‘normal family life’ captured by photographers, no doubt to achieve more positive publicity.”

The expert went on to added: “Harry has done some amazing things with the Invictus Games and for publicly opening up about mental health, but sadly it now feels as though he’s using these platforms to boost his own personal image and reputation, which is sad, because he has done so much, and had the opportunity to do so much more, but most people now are wary of working with the couple because of their behaviour and the choices that they’ve made.”

The couple announced their decision to step down as senior royals in January 2020, with a move to the US following soon after.

Prince Archie was less than a year-old at the time of the move, with the pair welcoming Princess Lilibet in June 2021.

Although the two children are rarely seen out in public, they were featured numerous times in the couple’s highly-controversial Netflix series last year.

The couple released their docuseries, simply titled Harry and Meghan, exclusively on Netflix in December 2022.
