While visiting the Isle of Wight school, the royal couple joined in with the pupils to help make some pizzas. 

As well as making the PLatinum Jubilee-inspired pizzas with the children, the pair also got to meet some of the Island’s animals. 

Prince Edward also helped prepare some bunting ready for next week’s celebrations. 

He took part in the activities at the Isle of Wight’s Independent Arts charity who help to improve wellbeing, quality of life and to reduce social isolation for people through the use of art. 

While on the shores, the Queen’s youngest son and his wife plan to carry out a number of engagements including visiting Pan Estate in Newport, to see the work done by the Community Centre and Barnados Family Centre. 

The visit to the school in the days before the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is helping the couple to see the work being done with young people on the Isle of Wight. 

They are then expected to visit the sheltered housing at Columbus House to see and join in with their preparations to celebrate next week’s events. 

HM Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Susie Sheldon, said: “We are delighted to welcome Their Royal Highnesses back to the Isle of Wight. 

“They have both always been great supporters of the Island and maintained a close interest during the Covid pandemic. 

“Their support of so many different aspects of our community is much appreciated.”

Graham Biss, chairman of the Royal Isle of Wight County Show, said: “We are very excited to be welcoming The Earl and Countess to our Education Day at the County Showground. 

“Her Royal Highness is patron of The Association of Show and Agricultural Organisation, and with our County Show newly expanded to two days this summer, we are keen to showcase the charitable work we do for young people through education, and bursaries and scholarships.”

Royal fans were thrilled to see the Countess and Earl getting involved in the jubilee events with one writing on Twitter: “So good to see Edward and Sophie more and more”. 

Another said: “Love this”. 

A third royal fan simply wrote: “Wonderful”.
