‘Disgrace!’ Caller lambasts Alastair Campbell over terror ‘help the rest of the country’
Mr Campell and a Jeremy Vine caller introduced as Aavi from Leicestershire became embroiled in a fierce row regarding the handling of terrorists. Aavi said: “Listen, these are terrorists, murderers and what are you lot on the panel thinking about. They’re terrorists, they’re going to always be terrorists.
“Somebody needs to be held accountable.
“Let me tell you he did it and you tried to rehabilitate him.
“What about the 74 that are running wild out there at the moment.
“They should have been rounded up on Friday.”
He continued: “Your country is a disgrace.
“Anybody you want to judge from Russia, from America, you want to deal with these terrorists.”
Mr Campbell replied: “Can I ask you Aavi, you know all the details about all the cases of those people you have just said are running wild?”
The caller responded: “They’re terrorists, they have been made terrorists, they weren’t bakers, butchers or anything else!
“These people are involved in terrorism like your man was on Friday.”
Mr Campbell then argued: “This is what Boris Johnson has unleashed.
“You would not be having this discussion in this way at this time in the middle of this election campaign unless the Prime Minister had decided to politicise it and to appeal to the populist argument that as you say all terrorists.”
Avai interjected: “I am not interested in politics, I am not interested in politicians, I am interested in terrorism.

“People that are going to blow up people!
“Listen if they came to your house and blew you up you wouldn’t be sat in the panel talking the way you’re talking.”
Mr Campbell quipped: “No I wouldn’t because I’d be dead.”
The caller shouted: “So listen help the rest of the people out in this country.”
Mr Campbell then said to host Jeremy Vine: “Jeremy this is what you have done.”
