Ken Livingstone in angry row with Tube worker leaving London commuters furious – VIDEO

As he battled to pry the doors open with his foot, a Transport for London (TfL) staff member yelled: “You should know better!”  The former Mayor of London was determined not to let the Tube leave the station without him after his left foot got lodged between the two doors on the Jubilee line train at Willesden Junction. A video posted on Twitter shows the moment the ex-Labour MP clashes with the TfL employee who came to his aid, telling him: “You’re trying to push me over.”

When the London Underground worker responded by saying “I’m not” Mr Livingstone, 74, said: “Now open and let me get on, let me get on.”

The employee then tells him: “Ken Livingstone, you should know better than this!”

Mr Livingstone, who served two terms in City Hall from 2000 to 2008, told the Evening Standard he had not intended to hold up the train.

He said he found it “bizarre” the the driver did not immediately open the doors to allow him on.

He said: “What was odd is normally when that happens the driver would open the door – but that didn’t happen.

“I just thought it was bizarre.”

The former politician said eventually the driver opened the door and he was able to get on the Tube.

The footage drew criticism from some Twitter users, many who say they use the London underground to get to and from work.

One passenger said: “Ken Livingstone decided to hod up our train because he purposefully stuck his foot in when the door was blatantly closing.
