The Brexit Party MEP savaged Labour’s policies as he insisted they wouldn’t work and said “you only have to look as far as Venezuela” to see that. Mr Lowe quoted Abraham Lincoln as he argued they can’t “make the poor richer”. Speaking to the BBC’s Sunday Politics, Mr Lowe said: “I find taking Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell seriously pretty hard.

“A couple of ageing Marxists backed up by Momentum which is probably the most sinister organisation that we’ve seen in this country since many years ago.

“They mirror the actual start of the Communist Party in the USSR.

“I think it was Abraham Lincoln who said ‘you don’t make the poor richer by making the rich poorer’.

“Well let me tell you, if those two get into power it will be worse than Brexit.

“There will be no investment, money will flee this country and it will be an absolute tragedy.

“You only have to look as far as Venezuela, central planning doesn’t work.”

His comments have been followed by Jeremy Corbyn’s approval rating plummeting in the polls due to his handling of Brexit.

Despite the confusion over Brexit and the ongoing legal debate over Boris Johnson’s prorogation of Parliament, the Conservative Party are still maintaining a 15 point lead over the opposition, according to the latest opinion polls.

The Conservative vote remains at 37 percent, according to a poll undertaken by Opinium between September 19 and 20, with Labour in second with 22 percent.

The Liberal Democrats take third place with 17 percent, followed by the Brexit Party with 12 percent, SNPs and Green Party with four percent each, UKIP with two percent and Plaid Cymru with one percent.

However, it is the approval ratings which paint the picture of how the public is feeling about Brexit.

According to the Opinium poll of 2,004 UK adults, disapproval of opposition leaders’ handling of Brexit has risen since last week.

Boris Johnson’s disapproval rating decreased by three percent compared to an Opinium poll taken on September 11, from 43 percent to 41 percent.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn’s approval rate plummeted three percent, from 17 percent to 14 percent.

His disapproval rating as of September 19 stands at 63 percent.

Liberal Democrat leader Jo Swinson’s disapproval rating has dramatically risen, from 28 percent at the beginning of September to 43 percent on September 19.
