Birmingham horror: Armed police swoop in as ‘man stood on edge of balcony with machete’

Dozens of officers arrived at the flat at around 3pm and quickly surrounded the block of flats. They are currently trying to bring the incident to a safe conclusion. Police were called to the flat, in Brierley Hill, 12 miles from Birmingham, after a man reportedly “stood on a balcony edge with a machete”.
Officers say the man is standing on the wrong side of the railings.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Officers are currently outside a block of flats on Hill Street, Brierley Hill where a man is stood on the wrong side of the balcony railings armed with a machete.
“The road is cordoned off and police negotiators are at the scene to help bring the incident to a safe conclusion.”
Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service are also in attendance.
