William and Kate ‘aghast at timing’ of Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview
Prince William and Kate Middleton are “utterly aghast” at the timing of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah, an insider has claimed.
On March 7, CBS will broadcast the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s pre-recorded interview with the legendary US TV host.
It has already been re-edited following Buckingham Palace’s decision to strip the couple of their remaining honorary titles and royal patronages, the Daily Mirror reported.
Once the interview was announced, the palace said “any decisions they take with regard to media commitments are matters for them”.
However, one insider believes the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge aren’t impressed.
They told US Weekly: "It’s just beyond the pale for William and Kate, especially in light of the dreadful timing with [Prince] Philip in the hospital. They are utterly aghast.”
Another source added: “They won’t talk negatively about Prince William and Duchess Kate.
“They don’t want to put any more fuel on that fire.”
A Kensington Palace spokeswoman declined to comment on the report when approached by the Daily Star.

Oprah spoke with Meghan on “a wide-ranging interview covering everything from stepping into life as a royal, marriage, motherhood (and) philanthropic work, to how she is handling life under intense public pressure”, CBS said.
The pair were joined “by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family”.
Days after the interview was announced, Buckingham Palace confirmed Harry and Meghan would not be returning as working royals.
The Duke lost the following military appointments – Captain General of the Royal Marines, Honorary Air Force Commandant of the Royal Air Force Bas Honington, and honorary Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Navy’s Small Ships and Diving Operations.
