Wildfire breaks out in Evergreen near I-70 and Colorado 74.

A wildfire broke out in Evergreen on Wednesday afternoon, and firefighters quickly doused the blaze.

The fire sparked near Nob Hill Road and Industrial Way, just south of Interstate 70 and Colorado 74, according to Evergreen Fire Rescue. The area includes several retailers and other businesses. There was a “limited” evacuation for a short time.

Firefighters reported the fire on Twitter at 2:32 p.m. and in about 30 minutes the fire was “contained.” Firefighters remain on scene and drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
