Urgent search for missing woman, 19, who vanished without any money or her phone as desperate mum pleads for help | The Sun

POLICE are urgently searching for a 19-year-old woman who vanished without her phone or any money.

Melanie Harvey disappeared at around 1pm on June 30 and her family are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.

The teen was last seen in Preston, Lancashire, but it is thought she may have travelled to Blackpool.

Cops and Melanie's mum have since pleaded for help locating her.

Katie Harvey posted online: "I’m going out of my mind!

"She’s not with anybody she knows, [she] has no money and no phone!

"Melanie knows that I’d pay for a taxi for her to come back to Preston and if she was with someone she would have contacted me or Jessica on their phone. 

"She has only one other friend in Blackpool and she isn’t with her either. 

"She has no reason to not come home! Imagine if this was your daughter. I can’t begin to explain the hell I'm in right now.

"I’m begging you to share this. I need to know no serious harm has come to my daughter."

And a spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We are becoming increasingly worried about her as this is extremely out of character."

Melanie is described as white, petite, 5ft 3in tall, with jet-black hair past her shoulders and blue eyes.

She was last seen wearing black leggings, a white top, and white and orange Nike Air Force trainers, and was carrying a black duffle bag.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police quoting reference 1164 of July 1.
