Rowdy passengers force EasyJet flight from Manchester to Amsterdam to turn round on runway as armed police board plane
ARMED police dragged two rowdy passengers from a plane after the pilot was forced to turn the plane around before it had reached the runway.
The 'abusive and threatening' men were escorted off the flight heading from Manchester to Amsterdam at around 11.30am this morning.
But sadly for other travellers on board looking forward to a half-term holiday, they also had to disembark the flight and return to the gate once the incident was dealt with.
At this stage it's not entirely clear what happened on board but easyJet said in a statement: "We can confirm that flight EZY1837 from Manchester to Amsterdam was required to return to stand and met by police due to two passengers behaving disruptively on board.
"Our cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.
"Whilst such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously, do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour on board.
"The safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew is always our highest priority."
Greater Manchester Police have been approached for comment but are yet to respond.
