Rain remains in Denver forecast National Weather Service
A chance for rain and thunderstorms remain in the Denver weather forecast with a 60% chance for precipitation Sunday — Mother’s Day.
Saturday there’s a 20% chance for showers after 4 p.m., skies will be mostly cloudy and the high temperature will top out near 62 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight in the city skies will be cloudy, with a 50% chance of showers, mainly after 7 p.m. The low temp will be around 47 degrees.
In the mountains, afternoon scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are in the Saturday forecast, mainly south of the Interstate 70 corridor. Light rain showers will be possible over the Front Range and Eastern Plains mainly late tonight as northeast upslope winds increase, the weather service said.
Mother’s Day, showers are likely in Denver with a possible afternoon thunderstorm. Skies will be cloudy and the high will be near 57 degrees. The chance for precipitation is 60%, according to the weather service. Sunday night showers are likely with a threat of a thunderstorm before 1 a.m., the overnight low temp will be about 50 degrees. The chance for precipitation is 70%.
Monday in the metro area there’s again a chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms, skies will be mostly cloudy but the weather will warm up a bit with the high temperature hitting near 71 degrees in Denver. The chance for precipitation is 50%.
Additional heavy rains are not expected, the weather service said, but rivers and streams are still running high because of recent rainfall.
