Prodigy minder ‘Con’ found dead month after Keith Flint’s suicide

Prodigy are rocked by second tragedy as minder ‘Con’ is discovered dead just weeks after frontman Keith Flint was found hanging

  • The death of Con, the band’s minder was announced on the band’s website today
  • They said that ‘Superman’ Con ‘always had our backs’ and referred to him as the ‘greatest loyal friend’
  • The cause of his death has not been announced but it comes just five weeks after Flint’s death on March 4
  • The band’s frontman Keith Flint was found hanged at his Essex home on March 4 

The Prodigy’s minder Con has tragically died a little over a month after frontman Keith Flint’s suicide. 

The sad news was announced on the band’s website today as they paid tribute to ‘Superman’ Con. 

‘R.i.P Con.You always had our backs and looked after us for years,you got us out of many sticky situations on tour,you were a truly great man, in fact you were actually Superman – the people that knew you will understand what I’m sayin,’ they wrote in the post.

‘Above all you were the greatest loyal friend to us all man. We will truly miss you and never forget you brother. Our love goes out to Jayne and family. The Prodigy boys.’

The band also shared a series of moving picture of Con and Flint, including one of him lifting up Flint as he was surrounded by fans at a gig.

His death comes just weeks after Flint was found dead aged 49 on March 4, and a preliminary inquest later found that he had died as a result of hanging.  

Bandmate Liam Howlett bandmate Liam Howlett said that Flint ‘took his own life’ in an earlier Instagram post. 

At the star’s funeral on March 29, a huge crowd danced through the streets of Essex as his coffin was taken to his local church. 

Many fans had travelled from across Europe and the rest of the world to pay tribute. 

The mourners packed the winding roads of Braintree to pay their respects with local schools closing for a ‘raise the roof’ celebration of the 49-year old’s life.

The 1.5-mile procession finished at St Mary’s Church in Bocking where the service took place in private, with the order of service revealing metal group System of a Down’s Aerials was the processional music.

Howlett, with the belt wrapped firmly around his shoulder, held up his fist in solidarity with hundreds of grieving fans 

Locals in Essex also paid tribute to The Prodigy frontman – crafting memorials to number one hit ‘Firestarter’ 

This besotted fan’s back was covered in tattoos featuring Flint, Liam Howlett and Maxim as he joined those paying tribute

Celebrities across the music and entertainment industry paid tribute to Flint after news broke of his death aged just 49

The singer rose to fame in the band in the 1990s was known for hits including Breathe and Firestarter, both of which rose to number one in the charts. 

The song climbed the charts in the days after Flint’s tragic death, with fans pledging to get it to number one. 

The Prodigy released their most recent album, No Tourists, in November.

Flint was described in a statement on the day of his death as a ‘true pioneer, innovator and legend’.
