A sick paedophile babysitter has admitted to nearly 150 sex offences against the kids who were in his care.

Jareth Thomas Harries-Markham, 24, was in court in Australia on Tuesday charged with a staggering 221 sex offences against more than a dozen children who he babysat between 2020 and 2021.

Appearing with a black eye in front of Perth magistrates, the perv pleaded guilty via video link to 141 of the offences, which included raping a baby, reports The West Australian. The other charges were dropped.

His sick crimes also included 10 counts of sexually penetrating a child under 13.

Harries-Markham had used two websites to market his babysitting services.

On WeNeedANanny.com, the predator claimed he had more than four years of experience, a “Working With Children” card and first-aid accreditation, and had been through police checks.

He also said he enjoyed “helping bring up kids to be the best that they can be”.

But once he secured work from unsuspecting families, he used his access to the youngsters for his own warped ends across Perth and elsewhere in Western Australia.

On his babysitting profile, he wrote: “I’m a pretty easygoing guy who is open to care for any age, any hrs. Open to handling things anyway the family wants.”

He also wrote: "Hope I sound like the perfect candidate for you."

On another website, he said he had more than five years’ experience, and he advertised his babysitting services for the equivalent of between about £11 and £14 an hour.

Harries-Markham was nabbed after cops raided his home in Bennett Springs last August. Detectives found “child exploitation material” and recovered gel blasters and “edged weapons”.

Following that raid, he was charged with 14 offences, including the sexual assault of a child under 12 months.

But as police continued their inquiries and found more victims, the number of charges quickly mounted up.

Harries Markham is due to be sentenced in September.
