Alice Martin, from Arizona, the US, says her daughter was fussier than usual after a day at Tuscon’s Creative Beginnings Preschool around two months ago. 

She went to give her tot a bath and noticed her back was covered in huge red marks. 

Alice told foreign media: “It’s stomach-turning. It feels both angry and sad at the same time.

“At first, I was like, ‘Are those really bite marks?’

“And then, my brain kinda stopped thinking and I started crying. 

“You always want to protect your children and I feel like that didn’t happen”

Tuscon Police Department Officer (TPD) Raymond Smith says the bites appear to from another child, and that the TPD Child Physical Abuse Unit is probing the incident 

The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) said in a statement: “The ADHS is investigating the incident at Creative Beginnings Daycare and working with law enforcement. 

“The investigation is not completed and ADHS cannot comment on pending investigations.”

Alice added: “The fact that nobody intervened in how many minutes, maybe they were left alone, maybe they just disregarded the cries, I don’t know. 

“But it takes some time to do that kind of biting.”

Daily Star Online has approached Tuscon’s Creative Beginnings Preschool for comment.
