Mickey Mouse among cartoon characters listed for court appearance after error
Mickey Mouse has been listed for a court hearing after a clerical blunder.
The Disney cartoon character was due to appear before a judge at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
He was down to appear alongside a number of other famous characters, including Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story and Captain Hook from Peter Pan.
The mistake was spotted by eagle-eyed divorce barrister Leisha Bond who speculated that a court staff member may have been playing a prank because they were leaving their role.
She tweeted a picture of the court listing and wrote: "What's going on at #stoke #crowncourt tomorrow? Is it someone's last day?"
HM Courts and Tribunals Service said the names were created as tests for a new case management system.
A spokesperson wrote on Twitter apologising for the error.
They said: "Sorry for the error. (They) should have been deleted before the lists were published."

Also listed to go up before a crown court judge were Bugs Bunny, Tinker Bell from Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty and Cruella de Vil, the evil character from 101 Dalmatians.
Their "cases" were listed alongside real defendants, some of whom were due to appear via videolink from prison.
Despite the courts service apologising, lawyer Ms Bond said it was "the best thing that's happened in law all year".
Her original tweet was met with a number of funny comments. Many asked why Road Runner was up before the courts and not his would-be attacked Wile E. Coyote.
Others listed what charges the Disney characters could face, including offensive weapons for Captain Hook, failure to surrender and dangerous driving for Road Runner and Buzz Lightyear for being a fraud and a con artist.
