King Charles must tie up ‘loose ends’ with Sussexes as he’s on ‘thin ice’

King Charles III must "tie up loose ends" with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to avoid damaging the monarchy, a royal expert has claimed.

The new monarch took the initiative as he expressed his love for Harry and his wife Meghan during his first official broadcast as King.

Harry then mentioned his father in a tribute he made to his late grandmother, the Queen.

Victoria Arbiter, royal commentator and author, claimed that Charles is “walking on thin ice when it comes to his second-born son”.

Ms Arbiter said: “In light of the Sussexes' willingness to share ‘their truth,’ it's imperative he uses the early days of his reign to tie up loose ends by addressing the issues that may prove detrimental to the crown.”

“Eager to avoid confrontation, he's a man who rarely fights back, but considering Harry and Meghan represent an unpredictable force he'll be keen to quell any future barbs.”

While Harry and Meghan's kids, three-year-old Archie and one-year-old Lilibet, currently possess the ‘Master’ and ‘Miss’ titles, there has been conversations on whether those titles will remain following the accession of King Charles.

Despite the debate, there has been no confirmation of a change being made with Archie and Lilibet remaining ‘Master’ and ‘Miss’ on the official Royal Family website.

A spokesperson for the King said that the children's titles would be updated "as and when we get the information" but according to a royal expert, there's a bigger reason at play as to why the titles have yet to be changed.

Katie Nicholl said its possible Charles is waiting for the release of Harry’s memoir, which is expected to be released by the end of the year, before making a decision on his grandchildren's titles.

The royal author, who has recently penned new book ‘The New Royals Queen Elizabeth's Legacy and the Future of the Crown’, said Charles aims to “limit” titles to the “top tier of royals”.

Ms Nicholl wrote: “We know titles matter to Charles, and he reportedly wants to limit them to the top tier of royals.

"Would Charles go as far as barring Archie and Lilibet from becoming a prince and a princess now that the Sussexes are no longer working royals?

“According to a source close to the King, 'it depends a lot on what happens in the coming months, particularly with Harry’s book and their TV show.'"
