Fury as boy, 9, NOT expelled after sneaking knife into primary school

The pupil, in year 5, was suspended for three weeks, but furious parents have called for him to be expelled, Stoke on Trent Live reports.

St Paul’s C of E Primary in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent told concerned parents the lad “received a severe consequence” and there was “zero-tolerance” towards his actions.

The boy had confessed to teachers about having the blade after showing it off to his pals.

Just days before, Staffordshire Police had visited the school to warn kids about the dangers of knives.

“The child has received a severe consequence for this and I have a zero-tolerance policy regarding matters like this.

“Unfortunately, a few other pupils were aware but did not inform an adult as they felt they were protecting their friend.

“I have spoken to all of year five about the seriousness of this matter and that there could have been a very different outcome had the child not told an adult themselves.

“All of the children had only just recently received a workshop from the police about the seriousness of knife crime which makes this all the more upsetting.”
