Cleveland Browns Baker Mayfield’s wife Emily brands fans ‘idiots’ in major row

Cleveland Brown quarterback Baker Mayfield's wife Emily Wilkinson has hit out at the team's fans on Instagram.

The WAG branded some of Browns' fans "idiots" and "fair-weather" following their victory over Buffalo Bills.

It has been a difficult season for the NFL side, with many former stars attacking the leadership and Mayfield in particular.

NFL legend Osi Umenyiora compared the Browns leadership to "dog poop" ahead of Thursday's clash.

Despite his difficult sophomore season, the 24-year-old was instrumental in their 19-16 victory on Sunday.

He completed 26 of 38 attempts for 238 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

After Mayfield was praised for his performance, the 28-year-old Emily, who married her quarterback husband earlier this year, took to Instagram to mock the side's fans.

"Fair weather fans are HILARIOUS to me. Get out of here lol," Emily posted on her story, according to a screenshot obtained by a fan's site.

Internet personality Emily later took to her Instagram story to clarify her remarks.

"LOL didn't expect to ruffle so many feathers with my 'fair weather fans' comment yesterday," she wrote on Tuesday.

"No, I was not directing that at the die-hard loyal fans who have stuck around for YEARS.

"I'm talking about the idiots who say HORRIBLE things about my husband and the team when we lose and are back to obsessing when we win. That is laughable to me."

Emily previously worked as a plastic surgery patient coordinator in California before moving to Cleveland with Baker.

The pair tied the knot in July 2019.

Mayfield has separately had his own beef with some of the Browns fans.

Ahead of the Browns hosting Pittsburgh Steelers tonight, Mayfield asked fans to keep it down while their offence is at work.

"It was just the fact that when we're on offence, we need it to be quiet," he said, according to Cleveland.com.

He added: "It might've ruffled some feathers, once again that's okay, but when we're on offence on a critical down, we need to be able to have silence in our home stadium.

"It's got to be an advantage for us, and then when they get the ball, it's got to be really loud. It's just basic football."
