Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to spend Christmas with friends on ‘lavish’ Malibu estates?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are likely to spend Christmas in the US or Windsor. But Hollywood reporter Sam Rubin believes they could choose to spend it with friends in California. He explained the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are well-connected in the US and many of their friends have “big lavish estates”.

Speaking to ITV This Morning, Mr Rubin said: “They could have a lovely sunny, private Christmas here in southern California.

“They certainly are very, very well connected here.

“Lots of friends who have big lavish estates.

“You could spend your time freezing in London or perhaps sunning in Malibu.

“Given those options, Malibu doesn’t look so bad.”

His comments come after royal expert Angela Levin claimed the choice to not be with the family is due to a rift.

Speaking on Sky News, Ms Levin said: “I think it is a gigantic step but I’m not really surprised by it.

“It’s sort of been coming. If your wife feels that she’s existing and not living, she’s unhappy and you are going through a difficult patch as well.

“Perhaps one of the last things you want to do is go somewhere in the UK which is bleak and cold with a whole load of family.

“It’s very demanding, it’s very regimented over Christmas.

“You know, you can’t eat after the Queen stops eating, you can’t go to bed unless the Queen has gone to bed. Everything is absolutely on time.

“I think if you are tense anyway it’s quite difficult.”

Her comments come after the Duchess of Sussex gave an explosive interview about life as a royal.

The royal was teary-eyed when she revealed it was difficult.

Ms Levin continued: “Also I think to be fair Los Angeles is hot, it’s sunny. It’s her mother’s first grandchild and maybe only grandchild and perhaps she wants to share it with her.

“The Cambridges have done very well with the Middletons, they fit them in.”
