Aurora police: Motorcycle driver killed after rear-ending car

A man died Monday when his motorcycle rear-ended a car that slowed down to make a right turn, Aurora police said.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a Mazda sedan and motorcycle were traveling east on Alameda Avenue in the right-hand lane and approaching South Peoria Street, when the car slowed to turn right onto Peoria, the Aurora Police Department said in a statement.

The motorcycle then ran into the back of the car and the driver was thrown from the motorcycle. The driver died at the scene, police said.

The driver of the car had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
