Whitesnake’s David Coverdale Talks Emotional Experience Revisiting ‘Slide It In’
Hard Rock band Whitesnake has released the 35th-anniversary edition of their 1984 double-platinum album, Slide It In as a collection of 3 remixes.
In an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, frontman David Coverdale said revisiting the album was an unexpectedly emotional experience.
“What was the most amazing thing for me, was while we were remixing this in the studio, I felt the presence of [guitarist] Mel Galley, [drummer] Cozy Powell and [keyboardist] Jon Lord,” Coverdale said. “Half the band that made that record have passed away.”
“I just felt them,” he added. “I could see them standing here, behind us, like, hands on his shoulders and my shoulders as we were mixing.”
Featuring previously unreleased live recordings and other rarities, the deluxe set is available for purchase in a 6 CD/DVD format.
