R. Kelly Released After Unidentified Person Pays Child Support

R. Kelly was released from Cook County Jail on Saturday after an unidentified person paid $161,633 that the singer owed in back child support to his ex-wife Andrea “Drea” Kelly. Kelly and Andrea have a daughter and two teenage sons.

According to the Chief Policy Officer of the Cook County Sheriff’s office, a person who wished to remain unanimous handed over a check on Saturday morning and left without writing his name and relationship to Kelly in the bond slip.

Following his release, Kelly told reporters, “I promise you, we’re going to straighten all this stuff out. That’s all I can say right now. I promise you… I love my fans.”

Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg said he hasn’t seen “one single piece of evidence” to support the sexual abuse claims against the singer.

Meanwhile, Michael Avenatti, a lawyer for two of Kelly’s sex assault accusers tweeted Saturday that he has uncovered more evidence against the singer.

In February, Kelly spent a weekend in the same jail after being charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse pertaining to three girls and a woman, before he was released on $100,000 bail paid by a Chicago business owner.
