Cops nab man rolling luggage around with loaded rifle sticking out

This gives new meaning to “packing heat.”

A Brooklyn man was nabbed by the NYPD for strolling through Bedford-Stuyvesant with a loaded AR-15 style rifle that was sticking out of a piece of rolling luggage he was pulling along, prosecutors charge.

Cops answering a 911 call around 10:50 p.m. on March 1 spotted Anthony Morgan toting the heavy luggage along Marcy Avenue near Halsey Street, the gun’s stock clearly protruding from the top of the bag, authorities said.

Morgan tried to yank the long-gun out of the luggage when he saw the cops coming, but bolted without the bag when the firearm got stuck, according to a complaint filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.

After a brief chase, officers nabbed Morgan and seized the weapon, a loaded Sharps AR15 semi-auto with an attached bump stock, officials alleged.

Morgan, who has a prior attempted robbery conviction, told the cops that after he was “jumped” and mugged at a party earlier in the evening, he went to his “stash” at a friend’s house to grab the gun and settle the score, court filings said.

Morgan is set to appear Monday afternoon in Brooklyn Federal Court for a bail hearing.
