China tour bus bursts into flames on motorway leaving 26 dead and 28 injured
AT least 26 people have been killed and 28 others injured after a tour bus burst into flames on a motorway in China.
Officials said five of those injured were in a critical condition.
The bus erupted into flames while driving along a motorway in Changde, Hanshou County.
There were 56 people on board, including 53 passengers, a tour guide and two drivers, both of whom have been detained as authorities investigate the cause of the accident.
Photos from the scene show the 59-seater bus’ interior completely charred, possibly indicating the fire started with materials on board.
