Zara Tindall has given birth to her third child, husband Mike has confirmed. According to a spokesperson, the royal couple welcomed a baby boy on March 21. However, as Mike detailed in his rugby podcast, the delivery was far from normal.
He told his co-hosts: “[The baby] arrived very quickly, didn’t make it to hospital, on the bathroom floor.
“Fortunately Zara’s friend, Dolly, is actually more important than I am at making sure…she’s been at every three of my children’s births.
“She was there and recognised that we wouldn’t have got to the hospital in time.
“So it was running to the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom, get the mat on the floor, towels down, brace, brace, brace.”
Mike continued: “Fortunately, the midwife who was going to meet us at the hospital wasn’t that far away.
“So she drove up, got there just as we’d assumed the position.
“The second the midwife arrived was just after the head arrived.”
The former England captain added that Zara had been having contractions through the night and hadn’t slept well.
