Zara Tindall baby: How Mike Tindall hopes for a son – ‘please be a boy’
Zara Tindall sums up Princess Anne in ‘three words’
Zara Tindall is the daughter of Princess Anne, the Princess Royal. Zara and Mike have been married for almost ten years, following their nuptials on July 30, 2011. The couple already has two daughters, six-year-old Mia and two-year-old Lena, who, according to Mike will be very happy to have another addition to their family.
Former rugby player Mike announced the news of Zara’s pregnancy on his podcast today.
He said: “It’s been a good week for me, had a little scan – third Tindall is on its way.”
Zara is said to be “very happy” at the news of another child, while the Queen and Prince Philip gave a statement about the news.
The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh said: “Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh are aware and delighted.”

And the proud dad-to-be revealed he was hoping for a boy this time around after being blessed with two daughters.
Mike said: “I will love it whether it’s a boy or a girl – but please be a boy.”
In addition to being a mum-of-two, Zara is still a professional equestrian and has to balance her competitions alongside her maternal duties.
Her work often means Zara has to travel the world, and heartbreakingly, she has confessed to suffering from “mum guilt” when she has to leave the girls.
She explained: “If I am away and Mike is here I don’t feel guilty, whereas if we’re both away then I feel much more guilty.”
But undoubtedly, both are devoted parents to Mia and Lena.
Mike said of his two daughters: “Mia is a fantastic bundle of energy and that challenges you as well as keeps it interesting.
“Lena is just starting to find her feet, but we have enjoyed every minute of it. You hope that’s what kids do to you, and it’s been great.”

Despite being part of the Royal Family as direct descendants of Princess Anne, neither Zara nor her children hold royal titles – and the new baby is expected to follow suit.
Princess Anne’s daughter has always praised her mum for making the decision not to grace them with titles, describing it as a “blessing”.
Zara explained: “We were able to be more adventurous than say, William.
“I am very lucky that both my parents decided to not use the title and we grew up and did all the things that gave us the opportunity to do.”
Outside of the constraints of royal titles, Zara has gone on to enjoy a successful life and career, achieving an Olympic Silver medal in equestrianism in 2012.
She credits her strong work ethic and achievements to the support of her family.
Former Buckingham Palace press secretary Dickie Arbiter revealed Princess Anne’s decision allowed Zara to “thrive as her own woman”.
He said: “It was a masterstroke of the Princess Royal when she decided not to give her children titles.
“Growing up as a commoner allowed Zara to thrive as her own woman, and there has never been pressure on her to conform. She has benefited from it in all sorts of ways.”
