You’re failing us on education and health – shut-up about independence! Scots SAVAGE SNP

Furious Twitter users brilliantly dismantled Scottish Westminster leader Ian Blackford’s claims a second vote could take place in 2020 as they tore apart the SNP’s domestic record. Mickey-taking critics pointed out the irony of Mr Blackford saying “all our efforts” are going into Scottish independence by saying this meant “zero effort” was going into other policies, including education, justice, health, crime, drug deaths and local councils.

One posted: “That means Zero efforts going into Health or Education.”

Another said: “Even in the face of the biggest pandemic in recent history all they can think of is Independence! What cretinous Zealots!”

Others accused Mr Blackford of being “delusional”.

A Twitter user added: “You can’t help but feel @Ian_blackford is suffering from the grandest of delusions when he claims all SNP efforts are going into holding indyref2 this year.

“The legitimate question to ask is ‘How are you going to achieve it?’ It’s not possible on any basis.

Another tweeted: “All SNP efforts into that means zero SNP efforts into tackling drug deaths, failing education, ghost hospitals, homelessness, chaotic GP systems, and the other clowns down Holyrood go along with it by indulging their ‘indy debates’. Holyrood = disaster.”

The remarks come after Mr Blackford told The National: “If we cannot achieve it this year, and all our efforts are going to be on making sure that is the case, but if we don’t do it, then this is the backdrop to the 2021 election.”

Mr Blackford also revealed his party’s plot to chip away at Prime Minister Boris Johnson and ensure his party succeeds in a bid to hold a vote to take Scotland out of the Union.

He warned Mr Johnson he would not be able to “continue to say no” to the SNP’s demands for a second Scottish independence referendum.

Mr Blackford said: “Boris Johnson can’t and will not be able to continue to say no. He knows it, we know it.

“That is why the First Minister has signalled our intention to establish a constitutional convention.

“We will provide the necessary leadership. We will allow momentum to develop.

Frustration is growing within the party over both the lack of real progress in the Scottish independence campaign and Ms Sturgeon’s failure on the domestic record.
