Young Brexiteer savages ‘mad’ Remainer plot to thwart Brexit as he warns of voter backlash

Leave supporter Darren Grimes emphasised that the Government gave the people of the country the opportunity to decide their own future regarding relations with the European Union. During an interview with Express.co.uk Mr Grimes argued that MPs couldn’t pick and choose which votes they respected. He noted that a failure to implement Brexit would shake people’s belief in democracy and politicians.

He said: “Politicians fundamentally do not get to decide which votes that they respect.

“That is what is happening right now.

“I repeat this again because I think it is so important.

“Parliament gave that decision to the people, we voted to Leave.

Earlier in the interview, Mr Grimes also insisted he was confident Boris Johnson and his team would be able to deliver Brexit.

He explained that Boris Johnson and each member of his team was committed to delivering Brexit and therefore could be trusted.

He added that the Leave majority were being treated like a minority by some politicians as he complained about Remainers failing to respect the referendum result.

Mr Grimes said: “I trust the people that Boris Johnson has put around him.

“We are spoken about as this minority that can be fobbed off and ignored.

“We have had constant attrition of our morals and people have just thought, Parliamentarians have been thinking: they will get bored of it, these plebs will just move on and forget about their fanciful ideas about independence and trading around the world.
