Among several of the available vacancies, the monarch is looking for a pastry chef who is comfortable with flour and a mixing bowl. Throughout lockdown the recruitment at the Royal Household slowed down massively, until there were no positions advertised just a few weeks ago.
Now, however, as the country is starting to open up, things have changed.
There are currently eight positions available at Buckingham Palace, with one more being advertised at Windsor Castle.
The pastry chef position offers a competitive salary, as well as a 15 percent employer contribution pension scheme plus benefits.
The tasks of the pastry chef will include preparing tasty treats for the Queen and her family including Her Majesty’s grandchildren.
The job advert states that the position “offers live-in accommodation, for which there is a salary adjustment, with meals provided”.
It is a full-time job requiring the right candidate to work five days a week and some weekends.
The advert on the website reads: “About the role – it’s using your expertise to deliver the highest standards.
“It’s being encouraged to develop your skills. And it’s contributing to a team who deliver extraordinary service. This is what makes a career with the Royal Household exceptional.
“Joining an accomplished team of professionals, you’ll work hands-on to deliver food to the highest standards.
“You’ll prepare diverse menus for a wide range of events, developing new skills that will help you to take the next step in your career.
“Working with quality ingredients and alongside skilled colleagues, your role will be diverse, interesting, and rewarding in the Pastry kitchen.
“And in an environment where development and training are commonplace, you’ll be supported to grow within your role.”
