Women ‘dragged’ from theatre in mini-riot during The Bodyguard musical

Two women were ‘dragged out’ of a theatre last night after disrupting a performance of The Bodyguard by singing too loud. The performance had to be stopped early after audience members repeatedly sang over the top of performers.

Their ejection from the venue in Manchester’s Oxford Street came after the show’s producers had asked the public to not sing during the performance, with signs installed around the auditorium.

The musical was stopped briefly during the first act to evict a handful of people who would not refrain from singing.

Police were then called 10 minutes before the show’s finale when “mini riots” and “fights” broke out among those watching.
