A woman was rescued after being stuck “waist-deep in thick mud” while walking near a Merseyside lake. The woman quickly became “firmly stuck in a channel of shallow water” and wasn’t able to reach the shore, the RNLI said. At approximately 2:45pm on Monday, a hovercraft Hurley Spirit from Hoylake was dispatched to rescue her at the southern end of West Kirby Marine Lake in Merseyside.
