Woman seized at Sarah Everard vigil welcomes Met resignation

Patsy Stevenson, 28, said she had never experienced such fear as when she was arrested at the vigil for Sarah, 33, near Clapham Common, in south London. Sarah had been abducted nearby in March last year before being raped and murdered by police officer Wayne Couzens.

Describing her arrest, Ms Stevenson said: “I was thinking, this is how Couzens got Sarah into his car. I’ve never experienced fear like it.”

Ms Stevenson “thanked God” when she learnt that Dame Cressida had quit because she claimed the Met Commissioner had allowed misogyny and racism to thrive within the force.
