A manhunt is underway after a passenger fell victim to an ‘extremely violent’ man.

He is alleged to have become incredibly angry after a woman accidentally dropped her bag on his toe.

He started off by being verbally abusive then punched her in the chest without any provocation.

The incident took place at 12.30am on July 3 on a Thameslink train at Farringdon Station.

British Transport Police have issued an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the assault.

They said: ‘The victim had accidentally dropped their bag onto the toe of another passenger. The man immediately became extremely violent, verbally abusive the victim before punching her in the chest in an unprovoked manner.

‘Officers believe the man shown in this CCTV image may have information which could help them investigate.’
