Woman injured in hit-and-run dies when she's hit second time by a police car
A woman was struck in a hit-and-run and mowed down and second time – by a responding police officer.
Quiana Brown, 38, was crossing a street in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Saturday night when a gray sedan sped through an intersection and hit her.
Surveillance footage shows the gray vehicle driving away from Brown without stopping. The video obtained by WBRZ does not show Brown, but onlookers are seen gathering on the road.
Not long after, a police car with lights flashing is seen driving on the same street. The bystanders appear to react in shock, with a man throwing his arms in the air and a woman putting her hands on her head in disbelief.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene at the intersection of North Foster Drive and North Street.
A cop responding to the hit-and-run ran over Brown while she still lay on the road, the police department stated on Sunday. Officers said it was not clear if Brown was already dead from the first impact.
However, a woman who was working at the Q Mart convenience store said she saw Brown getting struck by the cop car as she was picking up her clothes after the gray sedan fled.
‘When police hit her, he ran over her and hit her, and it threw her into the air and she landed on the ground,’ Lorraine told WAFB. ‘But then he ran over her again. Like backed over her.’
The police department is investigating the incident and has not commented further. Investigators are looking for the driver of the gray sedan and stated that the hood, front grill and rear driver-side door could be damaged from striking Brown.
Brown’s brother, Quincy Brown, said he found out about her death on Sunday morning from family members but did not know that she had been hit twice until he read news reports online.
‘My heart was broken, he told the Washington Post.
‘I’m trying to get somebody to make this make sense to me.’
