Woman guilty of decapitating Christian friend to try and inherit her estate
A woman has been found guilty of murdering and decapitating her devout Christian friend.
Jemma Mitchell, 38, hit Mee Kuen Chong, also known as Deborah, over the head with a weapon at her home.
The expert in human dissection then used her skills to dispose of the body of the Malaysian national, who had lived in Wembley, north London, for 30 years.
Mitchell’s motive to kill the 67-year-old was simple – money; in fact hundreds of thousands of pounds.
The Old Bailey was told the two women knew each other and were ‘friendly’ but had recently fallen out over money.
The prosecution claimed the defendant had planned to murder the divorcee, who had recently been diagnosed with schizophrenia after writing letters to the then Prince of Wales and Boris Johnson.
Mitchell was then going to fake her will to inherit the bulk of her estate, which is worth more than £700,000.

She came up with the devious plan after Ms Chong backed out of giving her £200,000 to pay for repairs to her £4 million dilapidated family home, the court was told.
A jury at the Old Bailey deliberated for seven hours to find Mitchell guilty of murder.
Detective chief inspector Jim Eastwood, who led the investigation, described it as a ‘truly despicable crime’.
He said: ‘The motivation for Jemma Mitchell’s actions was money and she showed a significant degree of planning and calculation as she attempted to cover up her horrific actions.
‘The cold facts of this case are shocking.’
Ms Chong was first reported missing on June 11 last year, with Mitchell claiming she had gone to visit family friends ‘somewhere close to the ocean’ as she was feeling ‘depressed’.
Holidaymakers found her body 200 miles away in a Devon woodland two weeks later, while her head was discovered in the undergrowth nearby a few days later.
The trained osteopath, who boasted online of her award-winning skill in human dissection, had denied having anything to do with the gruesome crime.
During the trial, jurors viewed footage of Mitchell arriving at Ms Chong’s home carrying a large blue suitcase, allegedly containing her murder kit.
Five hours later, she emerged from the property, dragging the suitcase, which appeared much bulkier and heavier.
Reconstructed CCTV clips showed her walking through streets and a grass verge for two hours, during which she called various cab companies nine times before she was picked up and dropped off outside her address.
Mitchell will be sentenced tomorrow.
