Woman, 54, charged with murder after pub landlord stabbed to death
Police have charged a woman with the murder of a pub landlord after he was stabbed to death.
Matthew Bryant was discovered with life-threatening injuries outside the Hare and Hounds, in Maidstone, Kent, following a stabbing.
Police rushed to the pub on Lower Boxley Road at around 6pm on Monday.
Paramedics administered medical treatment but he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Stephane Langley, 54, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court later today.
Following the tragic death, people have paid respect to the landlord who took over the Hare and Hounds in 2015.
He had been a pub landlord for 25 years and also had long experience as a door supervisor, off and on for 30 years, it was reported by Kent Online.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: ‘The woman, who was known to the victim, was taken into custody and an investigation commenced by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
‘In the early hours of Wednesday 13 September, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of murder against Stephane Langley, of Wilsons Lane, Maidstone.
‘She was also charged with a count of possessing a knife in a public place.
‘The 54-year-old has been remanded in custody and will appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court later the same day.’
