The body of a man was also found at the property in Kettering and Northamptonshire Police are treating her death as a murder. The woman’s name is 22-year-old Maddie Durdant-Hollamby. Formal identification of the deceased man is expected to be carried out by the middle of the coming week.

Police have said that until then they cannot formally name him.

The two bodies were found by police officers at a home in Slate Drive.

Officers gained entry to the property shortly after 1pm on Friday, August 27.

Police made their investigation after a report of a concern for the woman’s safety.

On Sunday evening police confirmed that the woman’s death was being treated as a murder.

Ms Durdant-Hollamby is originally from Wimblington, Cambridgeshire.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Nicole Main, said: “First and foremost I offer my condolences to the bereaved family, friends and colleagues of Maddie.

“This case is exceptionally tragic.

“Our team has been working over the past 48 hours to establish the circumstances that have led to the deaths of these two people.”

She added Maddie was a “young woman with a bright future”, and that her family are being supported.

Detective Inspector Nicole Main added: “This case is exceptionally tragic and our team has been working over the past 48 hours to establish the circumstances that have led to the deaths of these two people.

“Maddie Durdant-Hollamby was a young woman with a bright future ahead of her, and we are making sure her family are fully supported as we work to answer their questions about how she came to lose her life.

“Our investigation has found no known background of domestic abuse in this case so far, but we continue to appeal to anyone with any information they believe to be relevant to our inquiries to contact us as soon as possible.”

In a statement, the woman’s family said: “We are absolutely devastated at the loss of Maddie, our beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter and niece.

“Our hearts are broken and we cannot begin to imagine life without her. The shock and pain we are feeling is indescribable.

“She was a beautiful person both inside and out, who loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends.

“Maddie was a kind, caring, thoughtful young woman, who touched the lives of everyone she met.

“A talented dancer, her creative talent continued through school and into her career in marketing. Her life has been sadly cut short just as her career was blossoming.

“Our thoughts are with everybody who knew and loved Maddie as much as we did.”

The young woman’s mother Rachel also posted a message about her daughter on Facebook and said: “These are the hardest words we have ever had to write.

“Our beautiful beautiful Maddie is gone.

“She has grown her own set of wings and gone to fly with the angels.

“22 years of loving this amazing girl will never be enough, we thought we had a lifetime ahead of us.

“Please hold your loved ones a little tighter and kiss them a little longer, you never know when it may be your last opportunity.

“Baby girl, you were our world and our lives are not complete without you in it.

“Heaven is so lucky to have you.”
